Fields of application

ICS technology has a wide range of applications.

The innovative dry ice blasting method has almost no limits in terms of materials or surfaces that can be cleaned. Continuous emphasis on ecology, cost reduction and improvements in production process quality guarantees our future technology.

Mechanical Engineering

Dry ice cleaning is becoming an integral part of production processes in mechanical engineering –cleaning production machine parts (including electrical components), welding robots, conveyor and varnishing lines, moulds, etc. The time needed for cleaning is significantly reduced compared to traditional cleaning methods. This results in higher productivity and lower costs. Dry ice blasting is non-abrasive, does not generate secondary waste and allows objects to be cleaned even at operating temperature.

Printing / Paper Industry

In the printing and paper industries, keeping all the cylinders and machine parts clean is important. Dry ice blasting offers a quick and high-quality solution without the need to dismantle machinery. This process easily, gently and efficiently cleans mainly sedimented and burnt grease, paper dust, cellulose, ink and paint without damaging individual components. The process is dry, non-abrasive and free of any chemical substances.

Automotive Industry

The dry ice cleaning method is a top technology for environmental responsibility, reducing costs and improving production process quality, where only the highest quality and attention to detail is expected. The process is dry, environmentally friendly and suitable for a wide range of processes in the automotive industry – assembly plants, robotics, spray booths, foundries, electrical devices, hydraulic power units, moulds, mechanical components, engines, wheel suspension, gearboxes, electrical components, etc. All of these processes can be returned to almost their original condition by using dry ice cleaning technology.

Woodworking Industry

The woodworking and electric power industries have a high degree of risk of explosion. Regular maintenance of premises and machines is therefore essential. Dry ice blasting eliminates manual cleaning of wood presses and wood dryers, reduces overall cleaning time and provides a more efficient cleaning result. Dry ice cleaning also allows historical monuments, buildings, statues, etc. to be safely restored by removing layers of paint, carbon, pollution, smoke, fire, mould and many other pollutants. The process is dry, and the result is only the removal of pollution without generating any secondary waste.

Food Industry

The food industry places high emphasis on hygiene. However, hardened surfaces or the furnaces themselves on production lines in the food industry are often very difficult to clean. Removing food residue, grease, dirt and other residue from production devices is critical in preventing bacterial growth and ensuring high food quality. Dry ice cleaning is an ideal solution using solid CO2 pellets or microparticles that strike and clean the surface. The particles sublimate as they strike and thus remove dirt and contaminants from surfaces without damaging equipment.

Rubber Industry

Production lines in the rubber industry must work and produce with maximum efficiency. Cleaning the moulds used for producing rubber is usually a slow and time-consuming process. Dry ice cleaning technology from ICS, however, saves time and reduces the costs and risks related to cleaning from traditional methods that mainly use chemicals and hazardous solvents. Dry ice cleaning can also reach small, hard to reach places without causing damage. No solvents are required, and the process is non-abrasive, extending the life of each mould.

City/Municipality Services

Dry ice cleaning is a non-abrasive technology suitable for all surfaces – concrete, paving, wood, metal, marble, stone, plastic, etc. and can gently remove layers of pollution, such as paint, coatings, mould, graffiti and chewing gum without damaging the clean surface. During the cleaning process, dry ice pellets immediately evaporate (sublimate). No secondary waste is generated as a result of cleaning. The removed impurities can be easily swept up or vacuumed. The method is therefore suitable for cleaning historical monuments, buildings and statues.

Marine Industry

Dry ice cleaning has a wide range of application in the marine industry. It offers a quicker and gentler alternative to other cleaning methods that often damage a ship’s shell plating. Dry ice used as a cleaning medium has the unique ability to sublimate as it strikes a surface without damaging it. This makes it an ideal solution for cleaning a ship’s shell plating – from small recreational boats to large commercial vessels. The benefits of dry ice blasting in the marine industry are enormous – reduced work time, reduced costs, no damage to hulls with grinding wheels or sand.
